I couldn’t resist my spin on steamed hams after watching so many a version. Here’s one I don’t think has been done before. Also special thanks to @kappaengineer for inspiring me to make this delightfully devilish post.
Arto with his crazy explanations: If you haven’t already picked up, this was made to resemble the 1991 Simpsons arcade game by Konami (back when they were actually good.) A few of the assets were directly taken from the game, albeit with some tweaks. The dialogue boxes were probably the hardest part since I had to piece them together and there’s no font that I’m aware of for them that I could’ve used. The HUD was also altered with Skinner’s portrait. Oh, and speaking of Skinner, his sprite was recolored to match the show since the original had a crazy palette and I guess they had to work with early character refs and whatnot (the show was in its second season when this game came out). Everything else was created from scratch. Chalmers, the inside of Skinner’s house, and the steamed hams (which are actually grilled).
So it turns out EA Sports UFC is far from perfect…(x)
I love how games are improving in graphics at such a rate so when you see stuff like this it still takes two seconds to realize this is not in fact the most fucked up UFC footage ever shown, but a video game
