A personal appeal from your friendly SFMLab Administrator

Article 13 could mean the end of SFMLab

The European Union is working on legislation that has the potential to break SFMLab and the rest of the internet as we know it. This new law would require SFMLab and other sites to implement systems like Youtube’s controversial ContentID, which automatically scan for copyrighted content and restrict access based on country and/or licence. However, there is still time to make a difference. Visit SaveYourInternet.EU and contact your MEPs.

It’s not funny anymore.

EU citizens be aware!

EU is trying to establish a possible basis for censoring and filtering the internet in ways it is definitely not useful for anybody.

Once this is set it can just get worse and because of its vague definitions it can be misused in so many ways for years to come.

If you are located in EU please don’t just reblog but please actively sign the petition on change.org.

Or even better write to your local politician via https://saveyourinternet.eu/

I did both for sure.

Just reblogging but doing nothing else won’t really help here, so please get active.

If you are not in EU please reblog for your followers. Thanks.

For my german fellows there is a little comment showing the main problem on Spiegel online:

I hope the World Cup doesn’t make all people blind for politics.
